Most of geometry is the study of shapes and angles. More specifically, GRE geometry covers:

• Lines, parallel lines, and perpendicular lines

• Relationships between angles

• Polygons, including triangles, rectangles, squares, trapezoids and parallelograms

• Special right triangles and the Pythagorean theorem

• Circles and multiple figures

• Coordinate geometry

• 3D objects, including rectangular solids and right circular cylinders

• Perimeter, area, circumference, volume, and surface area

In the GRE, data analysis primarily focuses on your ability to interpret data through testing on:

• Data distribution and frequency

• Graphical representations of data, including bar charts, pie charts, scatter plots, time series graphs, and histograms

• Statistics, including the mean (average), median, mode, and range

• Standard deviation

• Factorials, permutations, and combinations
• Probability
