The U.S. Students Scholarship lasts one academic year, or 9 months, and is for American students in any area of specialization. Students are generally in their last year of a Bachelor’s degree or continuing their post-graduate studies. Grantees take regular courses at a Peruvian university or they conduct an independent research course in cooperation with a university in Peru. Initiative should come from the applicant, who must go through the selection contest held by the Institute of International Education (IIE) to apply. IIE is in charge of preselection of candidates while the Fulbright Commission makes the final decision based both on the qualifications of the candidates and the needs of the Peruvian institutions which are to receive them.
Benefits
The U.S. Students Program is an integral scholarship. This means that it provides all transport, medical insurance, as well as a monthly allowance for the student. The Peruvian institution that receives the student will collaborate on the organization of all academic activities participated in by the student.
Fields of Study:
The scholarship is open to students in all fields of study.
Due date to present application to the IIE:
The due date is October for scholarships that are to begin in August of the next year.
