Fulbright Specialist Program

The Fulbright Specialist Program lasts anywhere from two to six weeks and is for American professors and researchers to contribute to a specialized seminar in a Peruvian Institution. The Specialist helps in the design of the lesson plan, prepares teaching materials and offers training for professors or members from the Peruvian orgaization. Initiative should come from the Peruvian organization interested in hosting the Specialist, which should present an application to the Fulbright Commission in Lima stating either the specific professor or researcher they would like to invite, or the type of person they need. Professors are also selected by WorldLearning.

Benefits

  • All Fulbright Specialists receive roundtrip, economy-class airfare, a modest transit allowance, enrollment in a health benefits program, and a daily honorarium ($200). In addition, the program covers lodging, meals, and in-country travel expenses.

Due date to present applications: 

There is no due date to present applications; the Commission accepts them year round. The Peruvian institution should allow for a period of about four months between presentingthe application and receiving the professor.
